Join us every Sunday for our famous DRAG BRUNCH!

Delicious brunch buffet fare and delirious performances from Erin Brockobić and her rotating cast of drag guest stars ensure you spend your Sundays with good company, great food, and amid a vibrant, welcoming community in a queer, accessible, and affirming space!

Queer people and families of all kinds and allies welcome.

There are two seatings:

EARLY SEATING

11:15am first show, with a second show after 12.

Reservations are for 10:30, 10:45 or 11am.

We will need to spaced cleared around 1pm to reset for next seating.

LATE SEATING (AKA Queer Time Seating)

2:15pm first show, with a second show after 3pm.

Reservations are for 1:45pm and 2pm.

You can stay as long as you want after the last show.

Unicorn Medicine: Creative Writing for Queer and Trans Folks

Unicorn Medicine is a creative writing workshop for queer and trans folks on the 4th Saturday of every month at Glad Day Bookshop in Toronto. Creative writing enables us to kvetch, share stories, start revolutions, and heal. As queer and trans folks with a wide array of backgrounds, our voices often feel silenced by the sexuality-/gender-restrictive environments which surround us. Writing is one way to check back in with our embodied self. With a strong commitment to confidentiality and craft, these workshops generate creative writing which spans genres—from memoir to poetry to short stories, from science fiction to playwriting to novels. The Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) workshop method values every writing voice using a clear structure which creates non-hierarchical safer space for all participants. In this hands-on workshop for new and seasoned writers, we will tap into our authentic writing voices, past the critic, and into the stories our hearts wish to tell. Alex Cafarelli is a genderqueer femme Jewish Witch based in Toronto. A lifetime writer and performer, she has performed with Body Heat Femme Tour, Heels on Wheels Roadshow, Sins Invalid, The Brockton Writers Series and Naked Heart: The LGBTQ Festival of Words. Her work has been featured at theatres, conferences and universities across North America on themes of sexuality, chronic illness, survivorship, anti-oppression and queer femme identity. Certified to lead workshops in the Amherst Writers and Artists workshop method, Alex has been facilitating creative writing workshops since 2010. She is published in the Lambda award winning anthology, Glitter & Grit: Queer Performance from the Heels on Wheels Femme Galaxy.
