WorldPride Opening Ceremony: WorldPride 2019 | Stonewall 50We're proud to announce details about our benefit concert, WorldPride Opening Ceremony. Proceeds from the ticket sales will support Ali Forney Center, Immigration Equality, and SAGE – three leading organizations in the LGBTQIA+ movement based in New York City. Prolific entertainer and internationally-recognized humanitarian, Whoopi Goldberg, will host charity concert - WorldPride Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, June 26th from 7 – 10pm EST at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The evening will also feature a performance by the iconic Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi's unmistakable voice, influential style and infectious performances have catapulted her to stardom. Chaka Khan, one of the world’s most gifted and celebrated musicians, will also perform at the WorldPride Opening Ceremony. A songwriter, actor, author, philanthropist, entrepreneur and activist, Chaka Khan has influenced generations of recording artists. Throughout her legendary career, Chaka has released 22 albums and racked up ten #1 Billboard magazine charted songs, seven RIAA certified gold singles and ten RIAA certified gold and platinum albums. Ciara, a Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, producer, model and actress has sold more than 23 million records and 16 million singles worldwide over her thirteen-year career. Billy Porter is a Tony and Grammy Award-winning actor, singer, director, composer, and playwright from Pittsburgh, PA. He currently stars as ‘Pray Tell’, in in the FX series “Pose," for which he has received both a Golden Globe and Critics Choice nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Todrick Hall is a multi-talented singer, rapper, actor, director, choreographer, and YouTube personality who rose to prominence on American Idol. And NYC nightlife legend, Dj Lina, will spin on the 1s and 2s for a remarkable evening. NOTE: Tickets will go on sale on April 12th at 10am EST. Additional acts will be announced in the weeks ahead.
